The Rose Rakhi is a plantable rakhi, delicately handcrafted by our team of paper artists using seed paper.
Seed paper is a special handmade paper that is prepared from waste cotton scrap and has seeds of various plants embedded in it. It is wood-free, eco-friendly, plantable and 100% biodegradable.
The blooms are tied to handspun cotton thread braided together.
This simple Rosa origami rakhi is made from seed paper embedded with seeds of wildflowers and is inspired by the ideals of the beautiful Rose. Used for hundreds of years to convey messages without words, they also represent confidentiality. In fact, the Latin expression "sub rosa" (literally, "under the rose") means something told in secret, and in ancient Rome, a wild rose was placed on the door to a room where confidential matters were being discussed.
And we all know that the code language between siblings is no joke. We guard our sib’s secrets with all our hearts and souls, (unless of course there is the prospect of a bigger piece of chocolate, and then everything goes for a toss). Here's to celebrating the secrets and stories, sub rosa.
