Botanically speaking, a strawberry is not a berry. The seeds are not seeds either, they are the actual fruits, about 200 of them, worn on the outside like jewellery. The strawberry has been getting away with this nonsense for two million years because it is delicious and adorable, a strategy your youngest sibling also employs.
This one is cut from handmade seed paper, red as a July market stall, with real seeds pressed into the paper. Unlike the strawberry, ours keeps its seeds honest and on the inside.
After Raksha Bandhan, soak it overnight, plant it, water it with patience. It sprouts into herbs, flowers or vegetables, depending on the batch.
Sweetness fades. Gardens do not.
Inside the pack: One strawberry seed paper rakhi on a plantable holder, cotton string.
Materials: Upcycled cotton scrap seed paper, water-soluble ink.
